As Luck Would Have It

"As Luck Would Have It" is a short student film directed by Katherine Sisak in Spring 2020 as part of SCAD's animation program. It is about a man who finds a prize-winning bottle cap on his bottle of soda, only to lose it to the forest. Determined to find it, he sets out into the forest, turning up every bottle and can in order to locate it.

As one of the head 3D animators on the project, I contributed several animated shots to the project, which you can view below!

After tripping on a stray glass bottle, the bottle cap slips from his grasp. He watches helplessly as it bounces down a drainpipe into the forest below.

The man has watched his cap bounce down the drainpipe. After a moment of frustration, an idea begins to come to him. With a sack and metal detector in hand, he sets off into the forest, determined to find his prize-winning cap once again.

The man has been searching the forest all day, digging up patches of dirt and upturning bottles and cans. After tiredly wiping his brow, he notices a stray patch of dirt and goes to dig it up. Unfortunately, all he finds is an old soda can, with no cap in sight.
